Box.net OpenBox Developer Documentation

 

Welcome to the OpenBox Developer Platform's instructional site, a place to learn how to enable your applications to integrate with Box.net. By working with the OpenBox Platform, Box.net's 2 million+ users will be able to interact with the content they store on Box through your application or service.

 

Below you can find the information you need to begin creating OpenBox Actions and applications that use our external API.  When ready, you can  start a project by visiting the OpenBox services site.

OpenBox Actions

 

OpenBox Actions allow you to connect web application into the Box.net environment, giving your service direct access and visibility to our user base.

 

Box.net users can add your OpenBox Service to their Box.net account and use your service to modify, share, or perform other actions on their filew within Box.net. See some examples of existing OpenBox Actions.

OpenBox API

 

For developers of desktop applications that integrate with Box.net and web applications that will use Box.net features from outside of the Box.net environment, or for developers who use OpenBox Actions but want to use more advanced features of our service, we provide an API for external access. The pages below should help to get you started with our API.
